This is a piece that tells a story about an internet troll. An internet troll is a person or an organization who intentionally manipulates or disturbs internet-based communication. The story is told through the eyes of the troll who, above all else, wishes to be seen. It doesn’t matter if it’s hate or admiration. It just wants to influence and get a response. The song has a underlying tristesse but you also become fond of the troll in a way towards the end of the song.
The song is based around a simple riff which is introduced during the first bars of the song by two unison flugelhorns. This riff continues almost through the entire song and works as a driving force for both the troll and the song before it crumbles towards the end. In the middle of the song we get a section where it modulates to minor where the troll ponders about its actions and their consequences before we enter a minimalistic flugelhorn solo which in many ways can symbolize the loneliness the troll covers itself in.
